Greatest Country Hits Of The 80's, Vol. III
"Greatest Country Hits of the '80's Volume III" serves up a plentiful and delightful dose of country music at its best. Starting with "Forever And Ever, Amen" by Randy Travis, Dwight Yoakam's "Streets Of Bakersfield" and Highway 101's "Cry, Cry, Cry" keep the pace flowing. The album slows for the tender "The Vows Go Unbroken (Always True To You) by Kenny Rogers. Eddie Rabbitt gears the pace back up with his lively "Drivin' My Life Away." But the highlight of the album is the father/son duet of Hank Williams Sr. & Jr on "There's A Tear In My Beer." This classic (a personal favorite) resurrects memories of old smoke-filled honky tonks. Conway Twitty croons his famous "I Don't Know A Thing About Love (The Moon Song)", the perfect prelude for "To Know Him Is To Love Him" sung by "The Trio" (Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris). Was there ever three voices that sounded better together! Holly Dunn's sweet and touching "Daddy's Hands" (always a personal favorite, moreso since my father's passing), and "Fishin' In The Dark" bring this exceptional album to a close.
